For my initial selections:

I started by taking out a Camera with a macro lens. Going into the studio in College, and crumpling paper in different balls. Highlighting the individual crinkles and shadows each ball shows. getting close ups of the shadows in particular to stay true to the light and dark theme. then i take it into photoshop and levelled the images.

For My developments:

Started by taking my selections and putting them in photoshop, taking to of the images and merging them into one, using different opacities, to create a new image, showing yet again light and dark. But also showing Layers.
